Greetings, and welcome to this website where you can learn more about the professional and personal profile of Gregory Petersen. Below is a synopsis that might suffice for your purposes; alternatively, you may navigate through additional content using the buttons above.

Diversity is a key asset for any resilient and innovative organization, as well as for any well-rounded individual. A diverse range of perspectives and experiences inform dynamic approaches to problem-solving and creativity. My unique background gave me exposure in early adulthood to unusual opportunities to cultivate leadership, discipline, and creativity. Having cultivated a high level of skill and respect in my community as a martial artist in Boulder, CO, I taught highly popular martial arts classes at the Colorado University Boulder Recreation Center at the young age of 19, and I separately taught alongside my teacher of 28 years, with whom I still train to this day. Leading classes of 50 students, most of whom were in the typical age range of undergraduate students, jumpstarted my development toward leadership. Martial arts continue to be a pillar in my personal life.

Professionally, my background is also fairly unusual. I am currently thriving in my position as a Senior Business Analyst at Capital One, where I work in the Credit Risk Management office in the Auto Finance line of business. I have been working on quarterly loss forecasting and related work, and I have demonstrated effective skills with a range of business tools such as SQL and Python programming languages, Microsoft Office and Google Suite products, and other proprietary features for model execution, synthesis, interpretation, variance analysis, and input/ouput overlay formulation and implementation. I have shown a high level of cross-functional collaborative skill as well as ability to communicate complex technical concepts to audiences of diverse functions and seniorities.

Prior to working at Capital One I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance, where I achieved many promotions and recognitions in my work serving customers and adjusting claims. Prior to Liberty Mutual Insurance, I worked for 8 years at a small (now defunct) alternative consumer financial services company where I led a small call center to become the largest growth factor in the company's history by overseeing a lead-buying project that demanding a high degree of cross-functional collaboration across job levels.

Academics continue to hold my interest after having recently obtained a Master of Professional Studies degree in Data Analytics - Business Analytics Option, and having previously graduated summa cum laude with my Bachelor of Science degree in economics with a business minor, both degrees from Pennsylvania State University. I chose this university because they have one of the best-rated online campuses, and I needed the flexibility of attending online to continue working full-time while pursuing rigorous curricula full-time. I have had an enduring interest in economics and business, and so these fields of study were natural choices based on my interests while simultaneously offering appealing work opportunities. Currently I am considering further academic pursuits, most likely in the form of a Master of Science in Data Science or Artificial Intelligence. My employer will pay for further education and I enjoy learning, so continuing my education seems like a natural choice.

Two windmills are standing in a field and one asks the other, "What kind of music do you like?"

The other windmill says, "I'm a big metal fan."
